Prayer & Worship - Confirmation

Confirmation is one of the three sacraments of initiation.  It is another step in the life-long process of journeying with one another toward God.

Saint Mary’s Church celebrates the joy of Confirmation with children who have completed Sacramental Preparation in:

  • Our Faith Formation Program for children enrolled in public school
  • Our Faith Formation Program for children who are home-schooled
  • Our Faith Formation Program for Roman Catholic children enrolled in Saint Mary’s School
  • Rites of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC)

The two-year sacramental preparation program for Confirmation ordinarily begins in the summer preceding seventh grade and continues through the spring of eighth grade.   Reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in the spring with the Bishop at the Cathedral of the Holy Angels.  Questions can be directed to our Faith Formation Coordinator, Mrs. Marian Weeks.

Are you an ADULT who has been baptized and received First Holy Communion in the Roman Catholic tradition but never received the Sacrament of Confirmation?  We are delighted to offer you a special sacramental preparation program that ordinarily convenes in the winter/spring and leads to reception of the sacrament on Pentecost Sunday at the Cathedral of the Holy Angels.  Inquiries can be directed to our Faith Formation Coordinator, Mrs. Marian Weeks, or to our Pastoral Associate, Sister Joanne Marie Schutz, SSCM.
