God’s Groceries is part of our Martha and Mary Ministries at Saint Mary’s.
God’s Groceries Food Pantry is located in the House of Martha and Mary, the yellow house located on our Saint Mary’s campus – just southwest of the church.
It is our joy to serve God’s Groceries to families who are in need. We welcome guests on the 3rd Saturday of each month, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and continuing until 10:00 a.m.
Those who serve as volunteers for God’s Groceries have opportunities to:
- Welcome guests
- Offer hospitality and refreshments to guests
- Prepare bundles of food according to each guest’s expressed need
- Carry bundles of food to each guest’s vehicle
Additional opportunities include accepting and sorting food donations.
Volunteers who serve God’s Groceries are encouraged to participate in prayerful Evenings of Theological Reflection. We also share an occasional breakfast meal with our guests when they visit Saint Mary’s.
A core team of volunteers guides our God’s Groceries Ministry. Those who are interested in learning more about serving as a volunteer for God’s Groceries are invited to contact the core team through the Parish Office: 219-663-0044 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
